To activate the software on a new server, you will need to deactivate the license from the current license server first. 

NOTE: USB hard key licenses activate and deactivate the software automatically when the hard key is plugged in or removed. To transfer a USB hard key license, install the Network License Manager on the new license server and then plug in the key. 

1. Go to Start > All Programs > Network Toolbar, or search for Network Toolbar from the Taskbar.

2. Click the License Upgrade button to launch the Network License Manager.

3. Take note of the Serial Number, which you will need to reactivate your software elsewhere, and select Deactivate or Transfer to remove the license from the server. The Deactivate and Transfer buttons function exactly the same way, so you can choose whichever option you'd like.

NOTE: If you have an offline license and the workstation is not connected to the internet, you will be provided with offline deactivation options. We recommend using our Website. See the following article for more detailed instructions: How do I deactivate my offline license using the website?

4. You will receive a warning that states that you will no longer be able to use the software on this computer. Click OK to confirm. 

5. Click Finish from the deactivation confirmation window.

 

6. Once the Network License Manager is installed on the new server, launch the Network Toolbar and select License Upgrade

7. Click Activate.

8. Enter your Serial Number and Password. Click Next.

NOTE: The password is permanent and would have been sent out with the serial number when the license was purchased. If you can't find your activation password, please call Customer Support at +1 414-837-4800 and provide them with your serial number.

9. Enter your company contact information. This is what we will use to recover your serial number if it is lost. Click Next and then click Finish.

10. From the Network Toolbar, select the License Service Controller.

11. Click the Play button to start the license service. Verify the service is running, and that the appropriate number of users is shown along the bottom of the License Service Controller window.

NOTE: If you do not see the correct number of users, stop and restart the service.
