SINGLE USER LICENSE UPGRADE

NOTE: Scroll down to the next section if you need to upgrade a Network License.

1. Navigate to Start > All Apps > TEKLYNX [PRODUCT] to open the License Manager, or search for License Manager from the taskbar.
2. Click Deactivate.

3. Uninstall the previous version of the software. Your label files and user settings will not be affected.
4. Install the new version and reactivate using the same serial number and password.

 

NETWORK LICENSE UPGRADE

NOTE: The server must be upgraded before the client workstations.

1. Navigate to Start > All Apps to open the Network Toolbar, or search for Network Toolbar from the taskbar.

2. Click License Upgrade to launch the Network License Manager.

3. Click Deactivate.

4. Uninstall the previous version of the Network License Manager.
5. Install the new version and reactivate using the same serial number and password.
6. From the Network Toolbar, click License Service Controller.

7. Click the Start button to start the license service. If you receive an error, stop and restart the service.

NETWORK CLIENT UPGRADE

1. Uninstall the previous version of the software. Your label files and user settings will not be affected.
2. Install the new version.
3. Launch Network Administration by navigating to Start > All Programs > Your TEKLYNX Program > Network Administration, or search from the taskbar.

4. Verify that Use network license is checked and the server location is correct.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I request a version upgrade?
Supported TEKLYNX licenses are eligible for no-cost version upgrades. For more information, see: How do I receive my SMA or Subscription upgrade?

Will I get a new serial number and password?
No. You will use the same serial number and password after the upgrade.

Can I run both versions at the same time?
No, but you can request a 30-day test license from TEKLYNX.

Will upgrading stop my current version?
No. The current version will continue working until you deactivate it.

Will my labels work in the new version?
Labels are forward compatible but not backward compatible.

Should I upgrade before transferring a license?
Yes, this is an ideal time since both processes require reinstallation.

Do all network clients need to be upgraded at once?
No. Older clients can still connect, but newer labels may not open on older versions.
