This article explains how to transfer a TEKLYNX software license from one workstation to another.

Before proceeding:

  • Close the TEKLYNX software on the current workstation
  • Ensure internet access is available for online activation and deactivation
  • Record the serial number before deactivating the license

NOTE: USB hard key licenses activate and deactivate automatically when the USB hard key is connected or removed. To transfer a USB hard key license, install the software on the new workstation and plug in the USB hard key.

Deactivate the License on the Current Workstation

1. Open the License Manager using one of the following methods:
  • Start > All Apps > [Your TEKLYNX Software] > [Your TEKLYNX Software] License Manager
  • Search for License Manager from the Windows taskbar search
2. Record the Serial Number for later activation on the new workstation.
3. Click Deactivate or Transfer to remove the license from the current workstation.

NOTE: The Deactivate and Transfer buttons perform the same function. If the workstation is offline, offline deactivation options will be provided. TEKLYNX recommends using the website method for offline deactivation instructions: How do I deactivate my offline license using the website?

4. When prompted with the warning message stating the software will no longer be usable on the current computer, click OK to confirm the deactivation.
5. Click Finish to complete the deactivation process.

Activate the License on the New Workstation

6. Install the TEKLYNX software on the new workstation, then open the License Manager and click Activate.

7. Enter the Serial Number and Password, then click Next.

NOTE: The activation password is permanent and is provided with the serial number at the time of purchase. If the password cannot be located, contact TEKLYNX Customer Support at +1 414-837-4800 and provide the serial number.

8. Enter the company contact information and click Next.

NOTE: If the workstation is offline, offline activation options will be displayed. For detailed offline activation instructions, refer to: How do I activate my offline license using the TEKLYNX website?

9. Click Finish to complete the activation process. The software can now be launched on the new workstation.
