Product: LABEL MATRIX

Version: All Versions

Creating new label design in LABEL MATRIX is easy thanks to an easy-to-use interface and helpful wizards. In this example, we will be making a product label for a toy Jeep with text, a barcode, an image, and a border.

1. Start by using the New label document wizard that appears automatically when the software is launched. Select 'Create a new label' and click OK.

2. This page will allow you to select different options of the label to be configured to your choosing. I will be changing the printer as well as the page size to properly represent my current printing environment.

3. From the drop-down, select the printer you wish to print to. If you do not see your printer, make sure it is properly connected to the computer and that the manufacturer's driver has been installed. This will ensure that we can send data to the printer. For optimized printing, we recommend adding and using a printer driver installed from LABEL MATRIX. Further instructions on this process can be found by clicking here

4. Then click Finish

5. To add a text field, click on the  icon in the upper left hand corner to open up the text generation wizard. For this example, I will have the origin of this data to be constant. You can also change the origin to come from a database or from keyboard input at print time.

6. The 'Font' tab will allow you to modify the font type, size, and style of the selected text field. Click OK or Place when finished to put the text on the label.

7. Next, add a barcode to this product label by clicking on the  icon to open up the wizard. The origin of this data will also be 'Constant' and entered in the text box.

8. The barcode type can be changed within the Bar Code tab. You can also manually change the height of the barcode, the density, as well as the location of the human readable for the barcode.

9. The 'Font' tab will control the font type, size, and style of the human readable.

10. To upload a picture, click on the  icon and then you can browse out to the location of the picture that you would like to insert into the label.

11. The label for this example is almost complete. The next step will add a border around the border of the label.

12. Click on the  icon and select the shape you would like to apply. This example will use the rectangle. The Horizontal and Vertical sections will allow you to manually select the X and Y starting coordinates of the object on your label. The Width and Height will determine how wide and long the shape is going to be.
