Use this procedure to add and configure a printer driver in LABEL MATRIX. This process allows you to select a label printer manufacturer and model, assign a communication port, and enable Windows print spooling for improved print performance.
Applies To: Printer setup and configuration for thermal and label printers in LABEL MATRIX.
Before You Begin
- Ensure the label printer is physically connected to the computer or network.
- Confirm the correct printer driver is available for your printer model.
- Have administrator permissions on the computer.
Add a Printer in LABEL MATRIX
1. Go to File → Printer Setup.
2. Click Add.
3. Select the Printer Manufacturer and Printer Model, then click Next.
4. Select the appropriate Port that the printer is connected to.
5. Enable Windows Print Spooling if available, then click Next.
6. Click Finish to complete the printer setup.
7. The printer driver is now installed and available for selection within LABEL MATRIX.
Troubleshooting
Printer does not appear after setup:
- Verify the driver installation completed successfully.
- Check that the printer is powered on and connected.
- Confirm the correct port selection during setup.
Print jobs are slow or delayed:
- Enable Windows Print Spooling if it was not selected.
- Check network connection if using a network printer.
