Product: LABEL MATRIX, LABELVIEW, CODESOFT

Version: All USB/Hardkey Versions

Overview

This issue occurs when a single-user USB/Hardware Key license is accessed through a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session.

Single-user licenses are designed for use only from the local computer where the USB/Hardware Key is attached. They cannot be used through an RDP session.

Cause

The software detects that it is running through a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session. Because USB/Hardware Key single-user licenses do not support RDP connections, the license cannot be validated.

Resolution

Option 1. Use the software locally.
  • Log on directly to the computer where the USB/Hardware Key is connected.
  • Do not launch the software through a Remote Desktop (RDP) session.
Option 2. Use a different remote connection method.
  • If remote access is required, use a connection method that does not rely on Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
Option 3. Upgrade to a Network License.
  • If users must access the software through Remote Desktop sessions, upgrade to a Network License, which supports this type of deployment.
