Legacy LABELVIEW label files may have dependent files associated with them. Dbase files, image files, text files, serial files and many other file types can be referenced by label designs. The LABELVIEW software will look for dependent files in its default folder locations. These locations can be viewed and redefined by choosing Options > Directories. When opening label files on a different computer, the label as well as the associated files must be copied and made available to the new software with the default folders. Alternatively, the default directories can be changed to point toward the location that the associated files are currently stored.
Starting with version 8.6 the platform of the software was changed to not have so many dependent files. When converting from any version before 8.6 we recommend converting to 8.6 to begin with and then converting to the most current version.
