This article explains how to upgrade a TEKLYNX software license using a Software Upgrade Protection (SUP) license. Instructions are provided for both single user licenses and network licenses.
NOTE: If you are moving from a single user license to a network license, the existing single user license must first be deactivated. More information on deactivating a license can be found here.
NOTE: After deactivating the single user license, you must set up and activate the software as a network license. More information on setting up a network license can be found here.
Single User License Upgrade
1. Launch the software. Go to Help and select About.

2. In the About window, click License Manager.

3. In the License Manager window, click Upgrade Software.

4. Enter the SUP license number and password. The SUP prefix is automatically populated. Enter only the numbers that appear after the SUP prefix, then click Next.

5. Verify that the company registration information is correct. Update the information if necessary, then click Next.

6. When the message confirming the license upgrade appears, click Finish. Close and reopen the software for the license upgrade to take effect.
Network License Upgrade
1. Open the Network Toolbar. Navigate to:
Start → All Programs → TEKLYNX → Network License Manager → Network Toolbar.
NOTE: This example uses the 2025 version of the software.

2. In the Network Toolbar, click License Upgrade.
NOTE: In versions earlier than 2019, the Network Toolbar may automatically open in the upper-right corner of the screen and can be difficult to locate.

3. Select Upgrade Software License.

4. Enter the SUP license number and password. The SUP prefix is automatically populated. Enter only the numbers after the SUP prefix, then click Next.

5. Verify the registration information and update it if necessary, then click Next.

6. When the upgrade confirmation message appears, click Finish. The network license upgrade is now complete.
7. Verify that the license service is running. In the Network Toolbar, click License Service Controller.

8. If the license service is stopped, click the Play or Triangle button to start the service. Once the service is running, close the License Service Controller and Network Toolbar, then relaunch the software.
