OVERVIEW 
A fixed image will not change. You can set the following properties for fixed images:

  • Image settings, including aspect ratio, brightness and contrast, and color attributes
  • General properties, including the object name, position, rotation, anchor point, and margins
  • Shape settings, including the shape type to use for the object's background, background color and border options
  • Rendering properties, including resolution of any selected pattern applied to the object's background
  • Data source properties (for fixed objects the data source is Fixed data)

PROCEDURE 

1. On the Creation toolbar, click the Image import tool.

2. Click inside the label. The Image selection dialog box appears.

3. Insert an Image or SymbolThe image appears on the label, still selected.
  • To insert an image file, click the Browse for a file tab, and browse to locate the image you want to import, and then click Finish.
  • To insert a symbol, sign or object from the software's image gallery, click the Gallery tab. Select an image category in the Categories box, click on the image you want to use, and then click Finish.

               

4. Click and drag a corner handle on the image, and size it to fit on your label.

5. Right-click the image and click Properties. The Properties dialog box appears.

6. Review the properties in the Image settings tab.
  • The Stretch mode options provide three different settings for sizing the image.
    • None: Imports the image keeping its original size (image cannot be resized by clicking and dragging the object handles).
    • Stretch: Allows stretching of the image, without respect to its original proportions, which can distort the image (image can be resized in any direction by clicking and dragging any of the object handles).
    • Zoom: Stretches the image while maintaining the ratio of its original proportions (image can be resized only by clicking and dragging the corner object handles).
  • Click the  button and change the image resolution by setting the horizontal and  vertical values.
  • Options for brightness, color palette, and reduction method provide fine-tuning controls for printing to a color printer.
  • The Vertically and Horizontally check boxes flip the image to display a mirror image of it in the document.
  • The Filter options allows you to transform an image using filtering effects such as sharpening or edge detection.
7. Review the General, Shape settings, and Rendering tabs.

8. In the Data source tab, notice that Fixed data is selected.

9. Click OK.

NOTE: You can set the properties of an object (shape, image, text or bar code) as the default properties by right-clicking  on the object and selecting Set as default.
