Microsoft .NET Framework is a collection of APIs used by applications to function properly. TEKLYNX labeling software relies on specific .NET Framework features to display and process data correctly.

If your software crashes when modifying variables, or if text fields do not display on labels, required .NET Framework features may not be enabled.

To test this, create a new label, select Text Generation, and click anywhere on the label. If no text appears, follow the steps below.

NOTE: Administrative credentials are required to complete these steps.

Step 1: Repair the Software

1. Open the Control Panel, locate LABELVIEW or CODESOFT, right-click the application, and select Repair.

2. After the repair completes, relaunch the software and test Text Generation again.

Step 2: Enable .NET Framework Features

If the issue persists, verify that required .NET Framework components are enabled.

1. Open Control Panel → Programs → Turn Windows features on or off.

2. Expand and ensure the following are enabled:
  • .NET Framework 3.5
  • .NET Framework 4.7 / 4.8 Advanced Services
Restart your computer if prompted.

Step 3: Run System File Checker

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
2. Run the following command:
sfc /scannow
