Command File Interpreter (CFI)

The Command File Interpreter (CFI) is a command file analysis tool that enables labels to be printed automatically.

Command files use the .cmd file extension and are ASCII-format files. When interpreted by the Command File Interpreter, the contents of the file can:

Load a label into the labeling software.
Populate variable data fields on the label.
Print a specified number of labels.

Common Use Cases

Command files can be used to transfer information generated by other systems or computers, such as:

Centralized servers.
Centralized management applications.
Legacy or mini-computer systems.

For example, a centralized management application can control label printing by generating and sending a command file to CODESOFT. The Command File Interpreter processes the file and performs the requested label printing operations automatically.

NOTE: In the Trial version of the software, the Command File Interpreter (CFI) is limited to 30 minutes of use and can print to a maximum of three printers.
