Resetting or Changing a Password

Use the following procedure to reset, remove, or change a password in CODESOFT or LABELVIEW.

Modify the CS.ini File

1. Browse to the CS.ini file located at:
C:\ProgramData\Teklynx\CODESOFT\Cs.ini

NOTE: For versions 2018 and earlier, the software folder name includes the version year.

2. Open the CS.ini file using Notepad.

3. Delete the line:
w2=[numeric code]
or
w3=[numeric code]

4. Click File → Save, then close the file.

Access Password Settings

5. Launch CODESOFT or LABELVIEW.
6. Select File → Enter Password.

7. Enter CODEPASS as the password and click OK.

8. Select Tools → Set Password.

Change or Remove the Password

9. Enter CODEPASS in the Current Password field.

10. Enter a new password in the New Password field and click Yes.

To remove the password entirely, leave the New Password field blank and click Yes.
