This article explains the options available in the Label/Page Setup window. These settings control the overall label layout, including stock selection, label dimensions, page size, margins, custom stock formats, and printer settings.
Access Label/Page Setup: Navigate to File > Label/Page Setup.
Note: When creating a new label, the Document Wizard can also be used to configure these settings. For information about enabling or disabling the Document Wizard, see How do I disable the wizards in LABELVIEW or CODESOFT?.
Overview
The Label/Page Setup window contains several tabs that define the physical layout of your label and how it will print.
Stock Tab
The Stock tab allows you to select a predefined label format from the Type drop-down list.
- Selecting a stock format automatically loads its dimensions and properties.
- If your label stock is not listed, you can manually configure the label and save it as a custom format.
Label Tab
The Label tab controls the physical dimensions and layout of the label.
You can configure:
- Label width and height
- Corner roundness
- Number of labels per row
- Number of labels per column
- Media type (when using a TEKLYNX printer driver)
Note: If you are using a Windows or manufacturer printer driver, media type settings must be configured through the printer manufacturer. If you are unsure which printer driver is installed, see How do I know if I am using a LABELVIEW/CODESOFT printer driver?.
Page Tab
The Page tab defines the overall page size used for printing.
- The page size is typically the same as the label size.
- If multiple labels are printed on one page, the page size includes all labels and spacing.
- Enabling Automatic Sizing automatically calculates the correct page dimensions based on the label layout.
Margins Tab
The Margins tab controls the printable margins applied to the label.
- Specify the left and top margins manually.
- Select Printer Default to use the printer's predefined margins.
- If the printer does not define margins, the values default to zero.
Create a Custom Stock Format
If your label stock is not included in the predefined list, you can save your own custom format.
The new format will appear in the Stock Type drop-down list and can be selected like any built-in stock.
Printer Settings
Selecting the Settings button in the lower-left corner of the Label/Page Setup window opens the printer settings.
If you are using a TEKLYNX printer driver:
- Print speed
- Heat
- Paper feed mode
- Print mode
These settings can be configured directly from within LABELVIEW or CODESOFT.
For more information about installing a TEKLYNX printer driver, see How do I add a printer driver in LABELVIEW/CODESOFT?.
If you are using a Windows or manufacturer printer driver:
The settings can be viewed within LABELVIEW or CODESOFT, but permanent changes must be made through Windows:
Settings > Printers & Scanners > Your Printer > Printing Preferences
