Product: LABELVIEW, CODESOFT

Version: All Versions

OVERVIEW
To set up the general attributes of a label, such as its size, orientation, margins, and gaps, navigate to File > Label/Page setup

NOTE: The page setup, label attributes and stock can also be set up using the Document Wizard, which launches automatically when a new label is created. For information on disabling or enabling the Wizards, see How do I disable the wizards in LABELVIEW or CODESOFT?

STOCK TAB
The Stock tab allows you to specify one of the predefined label formats that are supplied with LABELVIEW of CODESOFT from the Type drop-down. When you select a stock label format, its properties are loaded automatically.

The number of preloaded stocks are limited, so if your stock is unavailable, you can either disregard this tab entirely or create a custom format. More information about saving a custom format is included below.

LABEL TAB
The Label tab allows you to specify the size of your label, corner roundness, and the number of labels per row and column. If you're using a TEKLYNX printer driver, you'll also be able to specify the Media type here.

NOTE: If you're using a Windows/Manufacturer printer driver, please reach out to the printer manufacturer for assistance setting the media type. If you're not sure what kind of printer driver you're using, see How do I know if I am using a LABELVIEW/CODESOFT printer driver?

PAGE TAB
The Page tab allows you to specify the size of the page. The page size will typically be the same as the label unless there are multiple labels per column or row. Enabling Automatic Sizing will resize the page to match the dimensions of the label(s), including any margins.

MARGINS TAB
The Margins tab allows you to set left and top margin for the label. In most cases, margins will be set to zero, but you can check Printer default to use the printer's margins and disable manual input. If the printer does not have predefined margins, the values will be set to zero.

CREATING A CUSTOM FORMAT
Once the LabelPage, and Margins have been defined, return to the Stock tab and input a Type and Name. Click Save.

This format will now appear in the Stock Type drop-down, along with the other preloaded formats.

SETTINGS
Clicking the Settings button in the lower left corner of the Label/Page setup window will launch Printer settings. If you're using a TEKLYNX printer driver, you'll be able to make adjustments to print speed, heat, paper feed mode, and print mode from within the software. For more information about adding a TEKLYNX printer driver, please see How do I add a printer driver in LABELVIEW/CODESOFT?

If you're using a Windows/Manufacturer printer driver, you'll be able to view these settings from within LABELVIEW or CODESOFT, but any changes will need to be made by navigating to Windows Printers & Scanners > Your Printer > Printing Preferences in order to be saved.
