Installing a Newer Version of TEKLYNX Software

Starting with version 8.6, current versions of TEKLYNX software use the same installation platform. Because of this shared platform, multiple versions of the software cannot be installed and used on the same computer at the same time.

If you need to install a newer version of LABEL MATRIX, LABELVIEW, or CODESOFT, you must first remove the existing version from the computer.

NOTE: Before uninstalling an older version, deactivate the software license through License Manager. This ensures the license can be activated again after installing the newer version.

Removing the Previous Version

To remove the older version of the software:

1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
2. Select Programs and Features or Apps & Features.
3. Locate your existing TEKLYNX software installation. Select the software and click Uninstall.

Installing the New Version

After the previous version has been removed, install the latest version of your TEKLYNX software.

1. Run the installer for the new version of LABEL MATRIX, LABELVIEW, or CODESOFT.
2. Follow the installation prompts to complete the installation.
NOTE: If you attempt to install the newer version without first removing the older version, the installer will warn that the previous version must be uninstalled and deactivated.

For the best results, always deactivate the existing license through License Manager and uninstall the previous version through the Windows Control Panel before installing the latest software version.
