Each vertical bar and space in a barcode MUST be spaced exactly the same to be read correctly. The program prints barcodes so the minimum element width is one print head pin width (dot) for the printer that you are using. Barcodes are printed as closely as possible to the optimum density based on the printer pin width. The appearance of the barcode changes between printers because the vertical and horizontal dots per inch are not the same on all printers.

A fairly common problem is that bar codes appear wavy or fuzzy when printed on a dot matrix printer. This is caused by the print head not starting in exactly the same position as the previous pass. The label design software has no direct control over this, however, by making some adjustments to the options in the Printer Setup, you should be able to obtain an acceptable barcode.
