Client Machine needs to have the Generic Text Only Printer driver installed.
1. Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add Printer (Add manually). (For this example, we will be on Windows 11 Operating System)
2. Add a Local Printer > Choose Appropriate Port (LPT,USB,IP).
3. Select Generic for Manufacturer > Generic / Text Only for Printers.
4. Name the printer (Take note of this name as it will serve as the UNC Path).
5. Choose Share this printer, Share it with the default name given > Do not set as default printer.

Server
Note: CODESOFT would have to be ran as Administrator.
1. Launch CODESOFT, > File > Select Printer > Click Add…
2. Select the appropriate model of printer to match your hardware.
3. Click Network Printers.
4. Type the Client computers computer name followed by the printer name (defined earlier) and then click OK to add the port path.
*Example: “\\CLIENTCOMPUTER\Production” CLIENTCOMPUTER being the client’s computer name and Production being the name of the printer specified through the Generic Text Only driver.
