Product: LABELVIEW, CODESOFT
Version: All Versions
If a label opens in Read-Only mode, you will not be able to modify the label or save your changes. This article explains how to identify when a label is read-only and how to remove the read-only setting from either the label file or the software configuration.
Identify a Read-Only Label
When opening a label that has been marked as Read-Only, a warning message similar to the one below appears.
If the warning closes too quickly, you can also verify that the label is read-only by checking whether the Save button is disabled (greyed out).
Remove the Read-Only Attribute from the Label File
C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Teklynx\<your software version>\Samples\Labels\food.lab
If Labels Still Open as Read-Only
NOTE: If removing the file's read-only attribute does not resolve the issue, verify that the software itself is not configured to always open labels in read-only mode.
