This will allow you to create and print additional labels prior to and after your primary label very similar to run separators. Essentially, this allows you to add up to two (2) additional labels to your print job. As an example, here are the steps to produce a Layered label print job.
1. In your LABELVIEW/CODESOFT product, navigate to the View option and select Layers. This should bring up the Layers window displayed in the image below.
2. Within the Layers window, select "First label of the print job" for an additional label to be printed prior to your Primary label. Select "Last label of the print job" should you want an additional label after your Primary label. Both of these options may be selected at the same time. For clarification, the "Primary label" is considered the "Front Side" or your original label template.
3. If you have selected both of these options, your Layers window should look like the image below.
4. From this point, if you select the left-hand side button with the eye icon within, it will display that layer of the template. You may build a template to precede and/or succeed your original Primary label using the "First label of the print job" and "Last label of the print job" sections of this window.
5. In the above example, this would be your first label to print out prior to your Primary label template. Once that has been successfully created, ensure your Primary label is set up properly.
6. Once you have confirmed that the starting label and your Primary label are setup correctly, if you have a post-label you wish to print, ensure your last label is defined properly.
7. After all of your label Layers have been setup up to your satisfaction, you can begin to print. Please keep in mind that the quantity of labels only applies to your Primary label or your "Front Side" label.
8. As in the example above, we have selected to print six (6) labels of our Primary template. The output of this print job will be eight (8) labels in total as we are including our Pre-Label and Post-Label.
9. As expected, we have successfully printed eight (8) total labels. Below is the complete print job.
